In-person: Advanced Emergency Braking Demonstration

  • Science and Innovation Park Swindon, England, SN4 9LT United Kingdom (map)

The Bus KSI Network is pleased to invite you to a demonstration day for Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB) on Friday 20 March at the Science and Innovation Park in Wroughton, Wiltshire.

Advanced Emergency Braking is a driver assist system intended to help a driver avoid or mitigate the severity of collisions. It uses forward looking sensors to detect the likelihood of a collision, and in a situation where the driver does not react, or the time to collision is too short, the brakes are automatically applied to avoid or reduce the severity of a collision. Transport for London (TfL) is the first city to require AEB on buses through the Bus Safety Standard, ensuring London’s buses meet leading safety requirements and support the goals of Vision Zero.

This demonstration day will provide a unique opportunity to:

  • Learn about TfL’s requirements for AEB on buses

  • Hear about the in‑depth research and trials undertaken

  • Learn about the AEB systems being introduced on London’s buses

  • Observe a series of live AEB demonstrations

The event is free to attend for BCoE members; however, spaces are limited and priority will be given to Bus KSI Network members, operators and LTAs/MCAs. Please note that you will need to travel independently to the venue and travelling costs will not be covered.

Registrations for this event are now closed.
