Cat Goumal
Head of Education and Professional Development, CIHT

Cat Goumal is Head of Education and Professional Development at the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation. With over 15 years experience of managing education and professional development for professionals working in construction and the built environment, Cat now leads on all of CIHT's qualifications including the Chartered Transport Planning Professional, Chartered Engineer and the Transport Planning Technician Apprenticeship as well as raising the profile of careers in highways and transportation and ensuring CIHT members develop the skills and knowledge needed to tackle the changing requirements of the sector.  

Bethan France
Head of Membership and Member Services, CIHT

Beth has worked in membership services for over 15 years. Since 2021 she has been CIHT’s Head of Membership and Member Services focusing on engaging and growing the Institution’s membership base.  This includes developing and implementing strategies to recruit new members and retain existing members.  In addition, she is responsible for enhancing member services and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, in the UK and internationally to support membership initiatives. 

Steve Hunter
Associate Director, Steer Group

Steve Hunter has three decades of expertise in developing and assuring business cases for transport investment and regulatory reform, with a particular focus on public transport. He led Steer’s contributions to the statutory Assessments which resulted in Liverpool City Region, West Yorkshire, and West Midlands combined authorities making their decisions to implement bus franchising. Steve has supported CIHT in promoting the Transport Planning Professional for more than ten years, including undertaking and auditing professional reviews, and serving on the joint CIHT and TPS committee which oversees the qualification.
